7. PUBLICATION CHARGES: Allelopathy Journal is published by Allelopathy Books, a small self-supporting firm and does not receive funds from any institution/government. The current publication charges since 2020 (5-years) for manuscript publication in this journal are Euro 300.00 per 4 pages or part thereof (discounted charges in various countries based on Human Development Index), based on final pages to be published in the journal.
Hence the journal is solely financed by the publication charges received from authors. The publication charges are required to meet operational expenses (employees' salaries, internet services, electricity, phone bill, office rent, web hosting, production expenses) and article processing (professional copy editing, proof reading, etc.). It costs to produce a peer-reviewed, edited and formatted article for publication and to host it on a server that is accessible 24 - 7. We ask the author, institution or funding agency to pay a nominal publication fee (as compared to charges in Springer, Elsevier, PLOS ONE, etc. journals with similar impact factor) to help cover the actual cost of publication. Authors are required to pay only after their article's galley proof is ready for publication. Thereafter, a proforma invoice is issued for payment of publication charges based on the final number of pages to be printed in the journal.
Payment of these charges allows Allelopathy Books to recover its editorial and production costs. These charges are paid from the author's research budget, or by their institution. Before the research paper is published, it passes through 15 processing stages (involving our hard work and investment of valuable time and energy). We add value to your research; hence, we are entitled to charge for it. IT IS A NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATION. As per rules, the pre-payment of publication charges/APC is mandatory for publication of manuscripts. The publication charges include free online access of Allelopathy Journal for one year to the corresponding author, which is priced at Euro 400.00 per year.
The publication charges vary among countries based on the Human Development Index (HDI):
A. Developed countries: Euro 300.00 per 4 pages.
B. India: Rs. 3000.00 per 4 pages.
C. Discounted publication charges: Based on the economic status of these countries (b,c,d categories), publication charges are heavily discounted, so that researchers in these countries can also publish their research papers in Allelopathy Journal. Instead of separate charges for number of pages published plus figures, a bundle price for a complete research paper is offered as under:
(i). African countries: Euro 350.00-400.00 (except developed countries like South Africa).
(ii). Pakistan, Iran and neighbouring countries: Euro 300.00-350.00.
